Angelo Corina Obituary

Angelo P. Corina, 91 TROY, NY — Angelo P. Corina, 91 ,entered into eternal rest at his home on June 29,2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Troy, Angelo was the son of the late Angelo and Madeline Corina. He was the devoted husband of 56 years to his beloved wife, June Corina. A proud veteran, Angelo honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean War era. Following his military service, he dedicated 31 years of employment to Ford Motor Company before retiring. Angelo was truly one in a million. To know him was to love him. His warm smile, infectious laugh, and larger-than-life personality could brighten anyone’s day. Whether he was walking down the street, entering a room, or stopping to chat with friends, Angelo was greeted with smiles and affection everywhere he went. He enjoyed taking walks, shopping trips, and betting on the horses, but his favorite pastime was visiting OTB, where he was affectionately known as “The Mayor.” His famous “1,3 bet” became part of the legend that endeared him to so many. Above all else, Angelo cherished time spent with his family. He especially treasured the love and companionship of his granddaughter, Dominica, who lovingly cared for him during his final days. In addition to his wife, June, Angelo is survived by his children, Laurie Corina; Lynne Corina-Chernosky (Walt); Lisa Larkin (Wes); David Corina (Heidi); and many loving family members. He was predeceased by his son, Vincent Corina. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and his sister, Joan Burns(Joseph). In addition to his parents and son, he was predeceased by his siblings, Anthony (Doris) Corina, Theresa Zullo (John), and Maryann Corina. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday from 10:30 to 12:30 at William Leahy Funeral Home, Troy. A Mass to follow will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Troy at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that living plants be sent, reflecting his love of life and creating a lasting remembrance in his honor.
