Anna Zerebynsky, 90, of Troy, entered into eternal life on Saturday December 3,
2022 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her loving family at her side.
Born in Lviv, Ukraine, she was the daughter of the late George and Maria Kurlak
Jesep and the loving wife of the late John Zerebynsky.
Anna emigrated to the United States in 1950, here she met her husband John and
shared 47 years together until his passing in 1999. She had retired from the Van
Rensselaer Manor as a Dietary Aide after many years of service.
Anna along with her husband John were founding members of the former
Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church in South Troy,
where she was also a member of the Sisterhood Society, Ukrainian Congress
Committee, Church Choir as well as a Cantor. She was a dedicated member to her
church and loving member of her family.
Most of all, Anna loved being “Baba” to her grandchildren and great-grandson,
who she absolutely adored! One of Anna’s favorite holidays was celebrating
Christmas Eve where she prepared all the traditional Ukrainian dishes for her
family.
She is survived by her Children; George (Patricia) Zerebynsky, Irene (Robert)
Wasserbach, and Myron (Margaret) Zerebynsky, Grandchildren; John (Jacqueline)
Zerebynsky, Matthew (Amanda Kearns) Wasserbach, Erica (Carl) Breitenstein, and
Zachary Zerebynsky, Great-grandson; John C. Zerebynsky, Siblings; Dmitro Jesep.
Sister Maria Gerard Jesep, Order of Saint Basil the Great and Catherine (Bill) Whitcomb.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her grandson Gregory Zerebynsky.
Anna is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral procession will begin at 10:30am on Thursday from the Wm. Leahy
Funeral Home, 336 3 rd St. Troy to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church,
Watervliet where at 11:15am funeral services will be celebrated with Fr. Mikhail
Myshchuk officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic
Cemetery, Watervliet.
Family and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 4-7pm at Funeral Home.
Parastas service will be held at 5:30pm.
