Bernadette M. Farron Donahue, (75) passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2024. Bernadette was born in Troy to Bernard and Julia Farron (D’Alessio) on May 15, 1948. Bernadette was married to the late Michael T. Donahue for over 47 years. She was the sister to the late Joseph A. Farron. Bernadette was the mother of Angela (Shawn) Krill and Michaeleen (J.T.) Donahue Campbell. She was the proud grandmother of Christopher (Jackie Moyer), the late Marissa Peabody, Morgan Campbell, and Bianca Krill. She was great grandmother to Adrianna Peabody, Baby Addy, and Giovanni Peabody. She is also survived by her long-life best friend Lydamae Peters of over 57 years.
Bernadette lived most of her life in Troy, New York. She graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1966 and was subsequently employed by the State Education Department. After having her second child, she became a full-time home maker and caretaker of many children in her home. In 1990, she returned to work as the parish secretary at St. Joseph’s Church in Troy where she served for almost 25 years. Bernadette was also an instructor and mentor for those seeking to receive the sacrament of confirmation for many years.
Bernadette was a parishioner of St. Anthony’s of Padua Church and a member of the Green Island Seniors. Bernadette was a devoted Catholic and an advocate for those who were less fortunate. She loved spending time and taking vacations to Maine and Cape Cod with her grandchildren Morgan and Bianca. Bernadette loved bargain shopping, watching QVC, and staying connected with family members. She also enjoyed weekend outings, trips to the casino and Maine with her best friend Lydamae.
The funeral service for Bernadette will be held on Wednesday morning, February 7, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, State Street in Troy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the church on Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Interment will be following at St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.
