David P. Matatt, 76, of Troy, Entered into eternal life on Tuesday morning February 11, 2025 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Bennington, Vermont he was the son of the late Raymond and Florence Bachorz Matatt and the loving husband of Marianne Schuyler Matatt.
David served our country with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam conflict, because of his natural skills he was a Jet engine mechanic and was involved in the Strategic Air Command. He attained the rank of sergeant through his dedication and pride. Upon returning home he was employed with National Gypsum in Rensselaer until his retirement.
David was a member of the American Legion in Albany and a long time communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Troy where he was also a member of the Men's Club.
He enjoyed repairing electronics and gaming devices but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his beloved wife Marianne he is survived by his children; Sara Matatt (Kenneth Dippel), and Daniel Matatt, Grandchildren; Anthony Hill, Jr. and Olivea Matatt, siblings; Patrick (Late Cindy) Matatt, Gail (John) Esmond, Judy (Late Brian) White, Mike (Sue) Matatt and Arthur (Christine) Matatt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited and may call on Friday morning from 8:45 AM – 10:15 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Williams Rd. Troy, NY. Funeral services will begin at 10:15 AM with Fr. Ed Kacerguis officiating. Interment with honors will be held at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY at 12:30 PM.
In lieu of Flowers donations in David's memory would be appreciated and may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
