Deborah A. Rigney, 73, of Troy NY, passed away peacefully resting on the afternoon of July 4th 2025 at home with her loving family.
Deborah was born on September 20, 1951 in Troy NY to the late James H. and Edith (Hasslinger) Houlihan. Deborah devoted the better part of her life as a passionate yet fiery Intensive Care Unit and Oncology Nurse at St Mary's and Samaritan Hospitals before retiring at the age of 55. Throughout her life here on earth she appeared so small yet she was so so very mighty in so many ways. She stayed a nurse to the core and continued to advocate for so many of the people she loved. She was an absolute angel on earth an amazingly loving sister, aunt, Nurse and many times a mom to us all. And not to be forgotten just how much she loved to be at home with her dogs and her incredibly beautiful Angel fish filled salt water tanks
Deborah is survived by her brother Richard (Betsy) Sister in laws Yon Son (Brian) and Judi (Jimmy) her nieces Michelle, Rosalind, Kimberly, Anita, and Christine. Her nephews Michael, Robert, Jim, Brian, Mark, and Alan as well as numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Deborah was preceded in death by her father (James) , mother (Edith), Sister (Diane), brother (James), brother (Brian), sister (Susan), nephew (Keith), and her doggy (Dodger)
The funeral service for Deborah will be held on Thursday afternoon at 1pm at The Wm Leahy Funeral Home with Deacon Bob Sweeney officiating
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home Thursday, July 10th from 12 noon until 1PM
