Devon Magill Obituary

Our sweet, beautiful boy, Devon James Magill, 37, unexpectedly went to be with his loved ones in heaven
on February 11, 2026. Though his time here was far too short, the impact of his quiet, steady presence will be felt for a
lifetime by those who loved him.
Devon was a ’06 graduate of Tamarac High School. After high school, he worked as a deckhand for K-
Sea Transportation in Seattle, WA, before moving back to the east coast and finding his passion as an
Environmental Health Safety Specialist, most recently putting his expertise to work at Philadelphia
Shipyard in Philadelphia, PA. He took great pride ensuring the safety of the workers around him.
Devon was a man who didn’t need to be the loudest in the room to be noticed. He was steady — the kind
of person you could count on without question. He listened more than he spoke, offered help without
being asked, and showed his love in consistent, dependable ways. His calm nature and thoughtful heart
made people feel safe and understood.
He found true peace in fishing. Whether casting a line at sunrise or sitting in comfortable silence by the
water, those moments reflected who he was — patient, grounded, and content in life’s simple gifts.
Fishing wasn’t just a pastime for Devon; it was where he felt most at ease. Devon also loved
photography, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and being an honorary Buffalo Bills fan on family football,
Sundays.
More than anything, Devon adored his nieces and nephews. He was their quiet protector, their steady
guide, and their biggest fan. He showed up — to games, to birthdays, to ordinary afternoons — and in
doing so, created memories that will live on in their hearts. The love he had for them was unwavering and
pure.
Devon leaves behind his loving mother, Brenda Magill, his sister Calie Hilton (Zac), his twin sister Mollie
Braughler (Tim), his Uncle Michael and Aunt Nancy, Aunt Cathy Randall, and Aunt Carolyn Unger, his
cherished nieces and nephews, Marietta, Adaline, Thea, Brycen, Corn, Chandler, and Emmy, his forever
canine companion, Pablo. He also leaves behind many beloved cousins and friends. He was
predeceased in life by his father, James Magill, brother Eric Magill, and his paternal grandparents, Ada
and Jim Magill, and maternal grandparents, Viola and Leonard Hoseler.
Those who knew him understand that he was so much more than his hardships. He was loyal, kind, and
deeply loving. His family hopes he will be remembered for his gentle strength, his devotion to those he
loved, and the goodness he carried within him.
Devon’s life reminds us that even the quietest among us can leave the deepest mark. May we carry
forward his steadiness, his love, and the calm strength he shared so freely.

The funeral services for Devon will be held on Tuesday evening at 6 pm in the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home with Deacon Charles Wojton officiating.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend, and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday February 17, 2026 from 4 - 6 pm.
