Doris Shirley (Smith) Honsinger

Doris Shirley Honsinger, Born August 14th, 1939, in Whitehall, New York, the daughter of Oliver George Smith (Charles George Riley) and Doris Agnes Renaud passed away after battling lung cancer on Monday October 9, 2023 in the comfort of her home surrounded by family. She was ready to be with her husband.

Doris (Pete) was a loving Wife, Mother, Daughter, Grandmother and Friend. She enjoyed cooking, camping and the fun on the lake with friends, a cold beer and a cigarette. She was always the last to leave a party. Her summers in Michigan were mostly spent with all her grandchildren. Mom was the most selfless and forgiving person imaginable. She loved the holidays and creating long-lasting family traditions.

She leaves behind her 9 children, Edward K. (Jacqueline) Brand, Cindy (Gerard) Gutto, Steven Brand, Jeffery Brand, Dawn Brand (Richard Clifford), Marvin Brand, Sherry (Keith) Wilson, Edward P Honsinger Jr. and Renee Wojtowicz (Jospeh Uri).

Her sister Gloria (Sissy) Quintal, Her Brother & Sister in-law Robert and Mary Jean (Candy) Honsinger, her sister in-law Carol (Leroy) Honsinger, her sister in-law Janet (Oliver) Smith, her sister in-law Barbara (Cookie) Bernard (Mackie) Riley, her sister in-law Mary (George) Smith, her half sister Val Smith and Her countless Grand, Great and Great Great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her Husband of 46 years, Edward P Honsinger, Sr. Her parents Oliver G. Smith, Charles G. Riley, and Doris A. (Renaud) Riley.

Her Brothers Bernard (Mackie) Riley, Oliver (Mickie) Smith, Richard Smith, Charles (Chuck) Riley and George Smith.

Her Brother in-laws Leroy (Lee) Honsinger, Raymond (Bud) Bridger, Raymond (Ray) Quintal, Norman Laraway

Her Sisters Bernice (Bernie) Bridger, Katherine (Bonnie) Laraway.

Her Grandson Keith (Peanut) A Wilson Jr. 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Troy.

Interment will be private.

Family and friends are invited and may call on Saturday morning from 9 am to 11:00 am at the Church
