Elizabeth A. (“Betty”) Wells, 80, of Troy, entered into eternal life suddenly on Sunday December 1, 2024 at the Albany Medical Center.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Elizabeth O'Donnell Welsh Sr. She loved her parents with all of her heart, and took pride in caring for them throughout their lives.
Betty was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy, Class of 1961. A few years later she began her career with NY Telephone Co. in Troy and enjoyed being a Buildings Manager until her retirement in 1993. Shortly thereafter, she accepted a position with the Albany Airport, and later with the U.S. Postal Service.
She was predeceased by her parents, and sister-in-law Eliza Welsh.
She is survived by her daughter Marianne (Eric) Clark, and her siblings John Welsh, Jr. and Peggy (Jerry) Bradley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was a caring, devoted and compassionate woman who would do anything for the people she loved. She will be missed dearly by everyone who knew her.
Mom, you taught me so many things…but you didn’t teach me how to live without you. This is the hardest lesson I’ll ever have to learn.
We would like to thank the staff of Peregrine Shaker Assisted Living facility and Albany Medical Center for the incredible care they provided and support they showed to Betty and her family.
Family and friends are invited and may call on Friday, December 6 from 9 – 11 am at the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, Troy. Funeral services will begin at 11 am with Deacon Charles Wojton Officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum Troy.
