Frank M. D’Amico Sr. (78) passed away on April 10, 2023 with family by his side at Albany Medical Center after a long illness.
Frank was born in Troy, NY, son of the late Cosimo and Frances D’Amico. He spent his childhood in South Troy before moving to North Greenbush at the age of 16.
Frank graduated from Troy High School, then SUNY Albany in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the School of Business. He spent his entire 35 year career working for New York State, retiring in 2001 as Director of Taxes and Accounts in the NYS Insurance Department.
He enjoyed camping and boating, having spent the better part of 31 years at Sunset Bay on the Great Sacandaga Lake; annual trips to Treasure Island, FL and the Dutchess County Fair; and – possibly above all else – Linda’s cooking, often trying new recipes they found together.
Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his wife, Marie Mushaw, and his sons, Frank D’Amico Jr. and Michael D’Amico.
He leaves to mourn his passing his Loving companion of over 20 years, Linda Pye, and her children Andrew Pye and Laura (Mike) Ferraro; grandchildren John (Karen) D’Amico, Katie (Sean) Bonanno, Frank D’Amico III and Anthony D’Amico.
Family and friends are invited and may call on Sunday from 1 – 4 pm at the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home 336 3rd St. Troy. Funeral procession will begin at 8:45 am on Monday from the funeral; home to St. Michael the Archangel Church where at 9:30 am a funeral mass will be celebrated.
