Franklin Ellsworth "Hooter" Ellithorp

(February 11, 1938 - February 18, 2025)

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Franklin Ellsworth "Hooter" Ellithorp, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and devoted husband, who departed this world on February 18, 2025. Just days prior, he celebrated his 87th birthday. Born on February 11, 1938, to Ida Mae Gibson Harey. Franklin lived a life rich in love, kindness, and generosity. His warm smile and infectious laughter illuminated the lives of all who knew him. He found joy in the simple moments, cherishing the company of loved ones and the warmth of shared experiences. Hooter's life was a testament to the enduring power of the human spirit. His unwavering love, selflessness, and endless storytelling left an indelible mark on our hearts. His younger years, as recounted in his captivating stories, were the stuff of legend, painting vivid pictures of a life fully lived. As we say farewell to Hooter, we find solace in the treasured memories we shared. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched, the stories he told, and the enduring impact he had on those who loved him. He is survived by his son, Christopher Ellithorp; his daughters, Shannon Ellithorp, Judi Morrissey, and Lisa Morrissey; and his beloved grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life: Tia Dubray, Alysha Scott, and Alexander Ellithorp. He was also blessed with greatgrandchildren: Richard, Matthew, Skyylynn, and Gage Bingham; Adaria Scott; and Lucy Lautenslager. He also leaves behind his nephews, Tommy and Frank Christopher, his sister in laws Marybeth Farr , Janice (Steve) Rocklin and a constellation of extended family and friends, all of whom held a special place in his heart. Franklin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Ann Ellithorp, his sister Rosemarie Christopher, and his grandson, John Andrew Torrisi. A celebration of his life will be held graveside at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date.
