Grace (Flood) Moran-Ryan

Grace Moran Ryan, 73, passed away peacefully yet unexpectedly in her home on the evening of October 21, 2022. Born January 11, 1949 in Troy, NY, Grace was the daughter of James J. and Anna Mae (Spiers) Flood. It was there in Troy where she lived with her loving family throughout childhood, graduated from Troy High in 1968, and would start a family with her first husband, Tom Moran. Together, Grace and Tom Moran had three children, Margaret Moran, Molly Moran (Holbritter), and Thomas Moran. Along the way, Joseph Patrick Ryan (Brud), would become a loving step father, and second husband to Grace, although according to Grace, he had always been the love of her life. Together Grace and Brud enjoyed a life with five grandchildren, Reilly, Jacquelyn, and Leighton Holbritter, and Makiah and Tyler Moran. Grace also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she adored within the Ryan family. Grace dedicated her entire life to not only her family but countless senior citizens she cared for at “The Moran Home”. Grace ran The Moran Home with excellence, proudly delivering outstanding care, while going above and beyond in her own special ways. Grace committed much of her free time and resources to helping the poor, and never went a day without acts of generosity that would inspire those around her. Grace was loved by many, and known for throwing extravagant luncheons, holiday celebrations, clam steams, and corned beef dinners. She was a proud Irish-American, and a Christian. Predeceased by her brothers James, Joseph, Thomas, and John Flood, and sister Anna Perrotti, Grace and her siblings are once again together in heaven. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the first responders, and the Ryan family, as well as her many friends and loved ones. A memorial service will take place at the William Leahy Funeral Home in Troy on Thursday October 27 from 4-7PM, with a eulogy and special remarks at 6PM.
