Helmut Franz Reihs

Mr. Helmut Franz Reihs, 90, of Troy NY died Monday, March 18, 2024 surrounded by his

loving wife and daughters. Born in Osnabruck Germany to his mother Gertrud Duffner Reihs

and his father Heinrich Reihs of Germany.

Mr. Reihs immigrated to the United Sates in 1951 on the SS Washington coming to Troy and

had been employed by Richter then Hedley Cadillac and Oldsmobile before going to Hudson

Valley Community College where he retired in 1998 as an IT Communications Specialist.

He was a member and board member of the former Germania Hall in Lansingburgh (presently a

member of the German-American Club of Albany) and many decades of St. Michaels Archangel

in Troy.

Beloved husband of 63 years of Marie Reihs and who he married on February 4, 1961, devoted

father of Gabriele Hamm (George) of Pittstown and Claudia Reihs of Rotterdam, brother to

Irmgard Iacabucci (Salvadore) Fort Worth TX, Arno Reihs Sr, (Elaine) Niskayuna, pre deceased

by Karl Wilhelm, Opa (grandfather) to Bettina Tareila (Colin) Niskayuna, Erich Schur (Sara)

Schuylerville, Krista Gale (Kyle) Nassau, Robert Hamm (Hannah) Mayfield, Marcus Schur

(Ashtyn) Speigeltown , great grandfather to his five angels Jordyn, Audrey, Gwen, Lucy and

Sophia and several relatives in Schenectady, Texas, and Germany.

Visitation will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Church 175 Williams Rd Troy, NY on Friday March 22 from 10 am to 12 noon with a funeral mass to follow at 12 noon.

Interment will follow in Elmwood Hill Cemetery 51 Belle Ave Troy.
