Troy, NY
Lucia, James E Sr, 94, of Troy, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, September 10th, 2022 at Van Rensselaer Manor in Troy.
James is survived by his son and daughter-in-law James Jr (“Jimmy”) and Debbie (Popp) of Schaghticoke, NY, his son Philip of Latham, NY, his granddaughter Kaitlyn and her husband Brian McDonough of Canton, MA, and his great-granddaughter Birdie McDonough. He is welcomed to heaven by his wife Ethel (Cassidy) whom he long missed, their son Jackie of Orlando, FL, his grandmother Mary Boland, mother Margarite, father Leonard, and second wife Helen (Gendron).
Papa, as he was called by most, worked as a Sales Manager at Morgan Linen for over 35 years. His number one priority was always family and he enjoyed a long retirement with them. He had many fond memories visiting his sons Jackie and Phil in Florida, loved family gatherings at Jim and Debbie’s and cherished the relationship he had with his granddaughter. He recently became a great-grandfather which brought him so much joy.
A special thank you to Dr. Kristen Santos and the staff at Van Rensselaer Manor.
A celebration of life mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Troy on Friday, September 16th at 9:30am followed by a burial at St. Mary’s cemetery.
