Kathleen M. (Mahoney) Dwyer

Kathleen M. Dwyer, 87, of Troy, Entered into eternal life on Tuesday July 16, 2024 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Niskayuna she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Alice Boyle Mahoney and on December 24, 2012 she was predeceased by the love of her life Alan Morrill after spending 30 years together. She and Alan Traveled extensively, visiting; England, Paris, Italy, Ireland and many cruises, they also enjoyed wintering in Myrtle Beach and countless camping trips.

She was a member of the Eastside and Wynantskill Seniors groups, Monday morning Bocce league, Thursday playing Domino's at St. Michael's, and she also enjoyed her many visits to the Alexis Diner, where she felt she was a “regular”, she had her favorite waitresses; Jordan, Cheryl and Oriana and buser Valentino. Her greatest joy was being a mom, grandma and great grandma.

Kathleen retired in 1999 from the N.Y.S. Dept of motor vehicles after 35 years of service.

She is survived by her children; Nora, Susan and Jack (Nicole) Dwyer, Grandchildren; John (Laryssa) Dwyer IV, Kasey (Jerry) Dwyer, Kelly Dwyer and Connor Dwyer, Great grandchildren; Elliana, Jackson, Shane, Declan, Alessandra “Aless” and Nolan, siblings; Thomas (Liz) Mahoney, Daniel (Karen) Mahoney, Michael “Mick” (Angela) Mahoney and Maureen (Thomas) Southern.

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral procession will begin at 10 am on Monday from the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, Troy to Sacred Heart Church where at 10:30 am a funeral mass will be celebrated with Fr. John Yanas officiating, Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy.

Family and friends are invited and may call on Sunday from 2 – 5 pm at the Funeral Home.

Kathleen's family wishes to express many thanks to the staff at the Samaritan Hospital in ICU and in the The Pavilion on the 5th floor for their kind and compassionate care of our mom and to the special friends and neighbors, Judy Morse and Phyllis Wisher, who always kept an eye on Mom.
