Kathleen M. Quillinan

Kathleen M. Quillinan, age 90, of Troy, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Samaritan Hospital. Born May 9, 1934, in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late David and Theresa Gorman and the beloved wife of the late John Michael Quillinan, Sr.

Kathleen retired in 1996 after a fulfilling career at Russell Sage College and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the Lansingburgh VFW Auxiliary. An avid lover of the outdoors, she enjoyed camping and a variety of outdoor activities. She especially cherished spending the holidays with her family and friends.

She leaves behind her devoted children, John Quillinan, Jr. and his wife, Linda, and Debra Post and her husband, Paul. Kathleen was a proud grandmother to Brian J. Quillinan; Linda and her husband, Edward Yamin III; Sherri Quillinan; Brandi Quillinan and her partner Dan Sorino; Ricky Nash; and Brittany Post. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Edward Yamin IV, Jonathan and Jacob Yamin; Adriana Lee and Nolan Pape; Alina Grace Sorino; and Layla and Cole Nash.

Kathleen is survived by her brother, Robert E. Gorman, and was predeceased by her siblings Mary Talarico, Cleo Shaver, David Gorman, Theresa Morey, Joanna Hull, Helen Cocco, William Gorman, John Gorman, and James Gorman. She also leaves many beloved nieces, nephews, and her constant companion, her dog, Que.

The funeral service for Kathleen will be held on Thursday morning at St. Joseph’s Church in Troy, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the church from 9 AM until 11 AM. Interment will immediately follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy, NY.
