Kathryn McKeever

Kathryn (McConnell) McKeever “Kay”, age 89, passed away on Monday, August 29th, 2022 at St. Peter's Hospital. Kathryn was born October 12, 1932 to William and Mary Gaudet McConnell, and spent her life in Troy, NY. Kay was born one of nine siblings who she remained great friends with all of her life. Kay married the love of her life, James McKeever and cherished their time together. Kay and James had three children, Patricia (William) Clinton, James Jr (Diana), and Timothy (Angela), whom they loved dearly.

Kay had a huge heart for her family, and an even bigger sweet tooth. She enjoyed talking on the phone with her loved ones and sharing her stories. She was the life of the party and enjoyed each day.

She is predeceased by her husband, her daughter, along with her sisters Helen Kussler, Linda Delamater, Virginia Robinson, and Nancy Rist and her brother William McConnell. She leaves behind her beloved sons, her sister Cissy Wagar, and her brothers James (Linda) and Larry (MaryAnn) McConnell. She also will be greatly missed by her grandchildren William Jr (Ashlee) and Lindsey Clinton, Morgan and Maggie McKeever, and Adam (Stephanie) Shelmerdine, along with her cherished great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and life long friend June Behan whom she had long conversations with every day.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday morning from 8:30 am to 10 am at the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home 336 3rd St. Troy Funeral services will begin at 10 am with Fr. Richard Donovan officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy NY.

Kay was a long time supporter of the St. Jude’s Research Hospital. Memorial contributions may be made in Kathryn’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
