Kenneth Francis Nolin September 12, 1945 – December 7, 2025 Age 80
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kenneth Francis Nolin, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who retired from the Troy Post Office after 33 years of dedicated service as a Letter Carrier. Ken was a proud member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, serving as Shop Steward and Past President, advocating tirelessly for his fellow workers.
Born and raised in Troy, NY, Ken had a deep love for his community. He was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Frear Park Golf League, where he shared many memorable rounds with friends. His passion for classic cars brought him joy throughout the years, as he admired and enjoyed many vintage automobiles. Ken also enjoyed bowling and spent many years in a league at Green Island Lanes alongside his son, creating lasting memories together.
Ken is survived by his beloved wife, Jean (Hernick) Nolin; his children, Ken Nolin (Lynn), Kathleen Parnell (William), and Kristine Browe (Chris); and his cherished granddaughter, Leah Browe, who held a very special place in his heart. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law Judy (John) Walden, and brother-in-law John Hernick (Linda), along with his longtime buddies Tom Butler, Robert “Rabbit” Riley, and Jim Fox.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Marion (Rooney) Nolin; his brother, Gerald Nolin; and his sister-in-law Joan Naylor.
Ken will be remembered for his warmth, loyalty, and the joy he brought to those around him.
The funeral for Ken will be held on Thursday, December 11th at 12:00 PM at the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third Street, Troy, with Father Joseph Phuong Ngo, O. Carm. officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home on Thursday, December 11th from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Troy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Albany.
His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
