Kim Myers Obituary

Kim Myers, 66, of Troy, died peacefully at home on Friday, March 28, 2025, surrounded by her
family and friends. Born on June 24, 1958, in Hudson, New York, daughter of the late Evelyn
and John (Jack) Johnson and beloved wife of the late Patrick Myers. Her biggest blessing was
her daughter Hannah Myers, of Selkirk.
Kim attended St. Mary’s Academy and Hudson High School in Hudson, New York, and
graduated from Siena College with a degree in Finance. She started working at G.A. Cinney,
later Cin-Co, in 1980, where she worked until 1998. She briefly took time off to raise her
daughter.
Kim will most be remembered for her heart, because she put so much of it into everything she
did. This includes sidewalk warriors in Troy, spring cleanups at Burden Pond, I love my park
day in Cohoes, helping at the Beltrone Living Center for seniors in Colonie, helping friend’s
family members who she did not even know, other members of her church, and dozens of other
examples too numerous to mention. She helped anyone who needed it and always put everyone
before herself. In volunteering at school so often, the principal offered her a job where she was a
teacher’s aide and then became a full-time teacher from 2006 until her retirement in 2021. She
spent her retirement doing numerous activities such as a book club, library programs,
volunteering, enjoying the pool, and spending time with her fur babies Asher and Molly and her
grand pup Bailey.
In addition to her daughter Hannah and Hannah’s partner Austin Divinichi, Kim is survived by
her brother Keith (Susan) Johnson, sister-in-law Marion Hills (Myers), and several cousins,
nieces, nephews, and many special friends, of which she had hundreds.
The funeral service for Kim will be held on Wednesday April 2, at 9:15 AM at the Wm. Leahy
Funeral Home, 336 Third St. in Troy, followed by a burial service at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s
Church, where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Fr. Joseph Phuong Ngo. Relatives
and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday April 1, from 4:00-7:00 PM.
Kim’s family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Albany Medical Center and
Community Hospice for the wonderful care given to Kim. Contributions in Kim’s memory may
be made to the Mohawk Humane Society in Menands.
