Lauretta (Waters) Bartkowski

Lauretta Bartkowski, 60, of North Greenbush, entered into eternal life on Friday December 27, 2024 with her loving husband by her side at the Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston, NY where she fought a long and courageous battle through many hours of therapy and rehabilitation after a traumatic brain injury suffered in January of 2023.

Born in Troy she was the daughter of the late Charles and Constance Meisner Waters, and the loving wife of Victor Bartkowski.

Lauretta was employed with the N.Y.S. Department of Higher Education in Albany, where she helped and guided many students with their financial obligations in a professional and caring manner.

She along with her husband Victor enjoyed their many trips to Paradox Lake and Maine. She also enjoyed crafting, shopping, bird watching and most of all spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her siblings; Stephen (Carol) Waters, Patricia (late Jack) Waters Downey, Gale Waters and Joseph (Jodi) Waters. She was predeceased by her sisters; Sharon and Arlene Waters, Susan Dinardo and her fur babies; Bubba, Benny and George. She is also survived by her brother in law Michael J. Dinardo and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:30 am in St. Joseph's Church, Troy with Father Joseph Ngo officiating, Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Thursday from 4 – 7 pm at the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, Troy.
