Lorraine Casey, 91, of Babcock Lake passed peacefully at home on January 25th 2024. Lorraine was born in Troy, NY and was the daughter of the late William and Grace Magill. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph F Casey for 67 years. Lorraine and Joe met when he was 14 and she was 13 at Proctors Theater in Troy. Their romance during the next four years was limited to summers when they each went back to their respected high schools. On November 17, 1956 Joe and Lorraine were married at St. Patrick’s Church in Troy. They resided in Troy and became summer residents at Babcock Lake in 1965. In 1972 they made Babcock Lake their permanent home. Joe and Lorraine are the proud parents of Colleen, Michael (Celine), Scott, Patty (Mark Grady), David, Erin, Daryl and John (Chrissy). Their lives were also enriched by grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lorraine was predeceased by her brothers Kenneth (Madelyn) and James (Ada). Aside from her attention to her family Lorraine also worked full time. She managed the NYS office of state senator and assemblyman Christopher Mega. After retiring from her work in Albany she volunteered at the Grafton library. Lorraine loved her time at the lake, especially her regular card games with her girl friends.
Calling hours for Lorraine will be held Sunday January 28th from 2-5 pm and a funeral service at 10 a.m. Monday at Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 3rd Street, Troy.
