Lucy Coli Obituary

Coli, Lucy B. TROY Lucy B. Coli, 94 of Troy, was united with the love of her life, Ralph, on September 1, 2022, 15 days shy of her 95th birthday. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born in Troy, Lucy was the daughter of the late Angelo and Laurenza Germano. She was the loving wife of 60 plus years to the late Ralph Coli. Lucy was the loving mother of Mary Ann, Philip, R. Joseph (Sheri), and Felicia Coli. She was the sister of Gerald (late Doris) Germano. Lucy was predeceased by her siblings, Felicia (Thomas) Tedesco, Ann (Ralph) Pascale, Philip (Jenny) Germano, Virginia (James) Gagnon, Carmel (Raymond) Petrocofski, and Angelina Germano. Lucy was blessed with many grandchildren whom she loved, including Sarah Coli (Mark Sawicky), Travis (Caroline) Coli, Chelsea (Michael) Glenn, Nicholas Coli, Matthew Coli, and Andrew Coli. She loved to read the postcards that her grandchildren would send while on adventures. Lucy had many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews that she loved. Lucy treated everyone like family. Lucy had quite the professional career. She started working at a very young age to help support her family. Lucy held jobs at Tiny Town Togs, the Ford Motor Company, the Troy Police Department, as a crossing guard at St. Mary's School and Prospect Park, the Red Front, and RPI, where she worked in the McNeil Room and the Rathskeller. She would often bring RPI students stuck on campus to her home for dinner during the holidays. Lucy started "Cloth-A-Child" at RPI. This initiative collected clothing and raised money for local children in need. Lucy took pride in helping to raise her grandchildren, preparing them to read and write using workbooks before they entered pre-k. She enjoyed spending time with family at her home on Third Street. She also loved to talk with her sister Carm about the New York Yankees. Lucy's family would like to thank the nurses at the PCU at Samaritan Hospital and the staff at the Van Rensselaer Manor for providing excellent care. And they would especially like to thank the firefighters at Engine 6 on Third Street, for always being there for Lucy. Lastly, they would like to thank uncle Jerry and their cousins, for always being there for them and Lucy, especially during this difficult time. As Lucy would say, "Thank you very much!" The funeral for Lucy will be held on Wednesday, September 7, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the Bocketti Funeral Home (336 Third Street Troy, NY 12180) on Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. When attending calling hours at the funeral home, please use masks or facial coverings.
