Marie Anne Brennan of Troy, surrounded by her loving family, passed into eternal rest on Sunday July 16, 2023. Born in Troy on June 4, 1930, Marie was the daughter of the late Euclide and Elmina (Maltaise) Beaudoin and loving and devoted wife of late James P. Brennan of Troy. Marie graduated from Catholic Central High School in Troy in 1947. In September 1947 she was employed by Aird-Don Co. in Troy, where she met her husband, Jim. They were married on June 17, 1950 in the Church of St. Jean Baptiste on Second Street in Troy. They were married for 63 years until his passing on June 13, 2013. Together they raised five children . She retired from Catholic Charities of the Albany Diocese and was an active member of the Columbiettes of the Knights of Columbus in Waterford and was a long time communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Troy where she was active in the Alter Rosary Society.
She is survived by her four children Anne Marie ( Wayne ) Carrozza of Watervliet , Deacon Joseph ( Cathryn ) Brennan of Rotterdam , Robert ( Suzanne ) Brennan of Ballston Spa, Jeanne ( Jeffery ) Gibson of Troy and was pre-deceased by her son Fr. J. Gregory Brennan OFM. Marie is also survived by her ten grandchildren Deyette ( Joseph ) Koyon of Watervliet, Chad ( Stephanie ) Carrozza of Alabaster AL., Patrick Carrozza (Devon) of Saratoga, Valerie (Jason) McNicholl of Hershey Pennsylvania, Joseph ( Katty ) Brennan of Canaan, CT. , Rachel (Adam) Mahoney of Swanton Vermont, Victoria (Ricardo) DeGroff of Chatham, Matthew Brennan (Kara) of Lake Buena Vista, Fl., Jeffery ( Tiffany ) Gibson of Troy and Cassandra (Rhian) Cleare of Troy. She is also survived by 15 great – grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Marie was pre-deceased by her brothers Euclide (Bo) Beaudoin and Ernest Beaudoin.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home 336 3rd St. Troy on Wednesday from 4-7 pm. Funeral services for Marie will be held on Thursday morning at 10:45 am from the funeral home and at 11:45 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 416 Third St., Troy, where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will be at the Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville NY at 2:30 p.m.
