Marie T. (Landrigan) Buckley

Marie T. Landrigan Buckley 94, formerly of Troy,  died on Sunday March 3, 2024 in Waterford , CT.

Born in Troy she was the daughter of the late Joseph H.Sr. and Mary Glinkowski Landrigan.

Marie was a graduate of St. Joseph's School,  Catholic Central High School  (Class of 1946) and a parishioner in St. Joseph's Church all in Troy. She was employed by several NYS agencies and the NYS Assembly, retiring in 1986 after 35 years of service.  She continued her career with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute  until 1993.

Marie is survived by her children; Kathleen M. Buckley and Robert (Kathleen) Buckley. Grandchildren; Jared E.(Colleen) McGrath, Elizabeth A. (Evan) Gilligan,  Robert J. (Robin) Buckley Jr.,  Bridget M. Buckley and Catherine M. Buckley. She was predeceased by her son Donald E. Buckley in 2019.  Marie is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, 2 brothers Joseph H. Jr. and Robert G. Landrigan and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In earlier years, Marie enjoyed camping and skiing in the Lake George/Adirondack Region and Stowe Mtn. Vermont. She was both an avid skier (downhill and cross-country) and an excellent swimmer. Later in life, she continued her love for traveling and camping with numerous excursions throughout New England and along the Eastern Seaboard with her sister-in-law, Posie Landrigan. She always recalled and talked about their camping trip to Disney World when they celebrated Posie’s birthday. Marie moved to Palm City, Florida in 2008, then returned back north to Connecticut in 2019. While there,  her greatest pleasure was spending time with her great grandchildren and their dogs.  There was always a trail of them behind  her looking for treats. She will be missed.

Family and friends are invited and may call on Monday from 4 – 6 pm at the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home 336 3rd St. Troy. Funeral procession will begin at 9:30 am on Tuesday from the funeral home to St. Joseph's Church where at 10:00 am a funeral mass will be celebrated, Interment will follow in St. Joseph's cemetery, Troy.

 In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate mass cards or donations to the St. Joseph's Church Restoration Fund, 3rd and Jackson St. Troy, NY.
