Mark Milanese Obituary

TROY. Mark Francis Milanese, 71, passed into eternal life on November 28, 2024. Born and
raised in Troy, he was the son of the late Anthony (Lou) and Anna Bruno Milanese. Mark was a
1972 graduate of Lasalle Institute in Troy and was the operations and installation manager for
Air Cleanings System, Inc. for over 30 years.
Mark married his wife of 46 years, Sharon Flanigan Milanese in August 1978. Together they
raised their 3 children, Marc, Justin (Tiana), and Christian (Briana) Milanese. In addition to his
wife and children Mark is survived by his siblings Louann O’Toole (Patrick Luci), Anthony
Milanese (Carrie), Patricia Cardamone (Tom), and Robyn Gillis (the late Colin). He was the
brother-in-law to Jack Flanigan and Matthew (Toni) Flanigan. He is also survived by many
nieces and nephews and his Godchildren, Anthony Milanese, Brian O’Toole, Melissa Flanigan
Philips and Christopher Colello.
Mark’s main priority in his life was making sure his wife and children were taken care of. He
loved his family through and through and was a very proud father of his three boys. Later in life
his love for family grew with the addition of his three precious grandchildren, Gabriella, Cameron
and Sullivan Milanese. His children and grandchildren brought him great joy. Mark also had a
love for his canine companions. Sometimes referred to as the “dog whisperer,” with even the
most unruly dogs listening to him. We are comforted knowing that he is reunited with his
precious dogs who have crossed the rainbow bridge before him.
Besides spending time with his family he enjoyed watching Nascar with dear friends, riding in
his corvette, dinners with friends, going to Sunday mass and taking his dog Piper on walks.
Never known as one to relax, Mark was a hard worker and would also enjoy working on his
property and helping others. Mark will be sorely missed by all of his dear family and many
friends. The family wanted to give great thanks to his family and friends for loving him, and
especially his sister Patty for accompanying him to many doctor appointments and making sure
he was taken care of. In keeping with Mark’s wishes the services will be private. In lieu of
flowers donations in Mark’s memory may be sent to the St Jude’s Children Research Hospital,
262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis TN 38105. Arrangements made by Bocketti Funeral Home,
336 Third St Troy.
