Mark Yingling Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Mark Yingling of Clifton Park, NY announces that he

passed away at his home on June 17, 2024 from natural causes. Mark was born in December

1952 and was the son of Pastor Stanton Yingling and Audrey Phillips Yingling, and was the

oldest of four siblings. His survivors include his daughter Jennifer (Joe) Farron of Wynantskill,

NY and his granddaughters Kaitlyn and Sydney Farron to whom he was affectionately known as

“Papa Cat”, his loving canine sidekick, Kasy, a brother, sister and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his beloved Carolina dog Sara, his parents and a second brother.

Mark worked as a NYSEG lineman from 1976 until his retirement in 2015, often being sent out

of town during the worst of storms to restore power. He was an outdoorsman, loved his many

dogs over the years, and was a motorcycle enthusiast dating back over 50 years. He was

dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of veterans, including numerous outings with

local veterans and veteran groups for meals, parades, meetings and celebrations. He counted

among his greatest moments having the opportunities to befriend veterans with ties to Iwo Jima

and the D-Day Invasion of Normandy and spent countless hours interviewing veterans from that

era in order to preserve their stories and legacies. He was a longstanding member of the

Patriot Guard Riders, always being eager to ride one of his cherished Harley-Davidsons for a

PGR mission to honor a fallen hero. He participated in multiple Honor Flights to Washington,

DC to accompany and honor WWII veterans, and additionally worked to support several other

organizations with programs honoring and assisting veterans.

At the request of Mark and his family, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, please

consider a contribution to benefit one of Mark’s favorite causes, Patriot Guard Riders

(patriotguard.org/tribute) or the Saving Carolina Dogs Rescue
