Mary "Sue" (Shepard) Hart

Mary “Sue” Hart, 74, of Melrose, was called to heaven on Friday evening, the 16th of December 2022 at her home.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late William and Rosemary Poliquin Shepard and the beloved wife of 54 years to Lawrence Hart.

Sue returned to school to continue her education and completed her degree in Nursing. She was awarded the Johanna Carpenter Memorial Award for Compassionate Nursing. Sue was a registered nurse with Samaritan Hospital for over 25 years, she was also employed with the Capital District Surgical Associates and later completing her career in private home care. 

Sue loved warm weather and enjoyed going to the beach. She loved to craft and enjoyed spending time laughing with her family and friends. 

Survivors in addition to her husband Larry include her children; Scott and Donna Hart, Jason Hart and Keith Hart, grandchildren; Corey (Brandy) Hart, Sarah (Stephen) Rodd, Nicole and Dylan Hart, siblings; William (Eileen) Shepard, Jude (Laureen) Shepard, sister in law; Carol Shepard. She was predeceased by her brother James Shepard. Sue is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday morning from 8:30 – 9:30 am at the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home 336 3rd St. Troy. Funeral services will follow at St. Joseph's Church, Troy, where at 10 am a funeral mass will be celebrated with Fr. Joseph Ngo officiating, Internment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
