Mary Anne Geddis, 72, of Stillwater, New York, passed away on March 22, 2026. She will be remembered for her deep warmth, quiet strength, and the boundless love she gave so freely to everyone in her life. She was the devoted wife of the late James Geddis III, and their 39 years together were a beautiful testament to enduring love.
Mary Anne and Jim shared a deep love for travel and spent their lives working side by side managing hotels across the country, creating not only a career, but a life built together with purpose and partnership. She treasured the time they spent traveling, cherishing each journey and every moment together.
Mary Anne also shared a close and loving bond with her daughter, Amy, filled with laughter, support, and countless cherished moments. She was so proud of Amy’s work as a teacher, always her biggest cheerleader, and she treasured every conversation, truly delighted to hear all about her life. She especially loved hearing stories about the children in Amy’s class, finding joy in each update and taking pride in the impact Amy had on so many young lives.
She also held a lifelong closeness with her brother, Michael—one filled with loyalty, laughter, and the kind of playful teasing that only comes from an unbreakable sibling bond. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially shopping and decorating, and she took great pride in making her home warm, welcoming, and beautiful, a true reflection of her bright and loving spirit.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy Geddis (Robert Nucci II) of Springfield, NJ; her mother, Anna Harat Kocan, and her late father, Samuel Harat, of Troy, NY; her brother, Michael Harat and his wife, Donna, of Clifton Park, NY; and many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Family and friends are invited and may call on Thursday from 10 am – 12:30 pm at the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home 336 3rd St. Troy, NY, Parastas services will begin at 12:30 pm with Fr. Mikhail Myshchuk officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery Troy.
