Michael E. Paglia, 89, of Brunswick passed away suddenly on August 3, 2024 in Troy, NY.
He was the husband for 54 years of the late Phyllis Paglia, who passed away in 2016.
Michael was the son of the late Christy and Mary Ann (Smith) Paglia of Troy.
Michael was born in Watervliet. He was a communicant of St. Francis, St. Anthony’s, and Our lady of Victory. He attended Catholic Central and Troy High Schools.
He served our country in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1956-60. Michael enjoyed a 16 year career as a proud Troy Firefighter.
He also worked as a meat cutter in the 1960's-70's at Yaisers, Doughney's, LoPorto's Troy supermarkets.
He was well know for his sense of humor and kindness. He loved to read newspapers daily and to watch his favorite TV shows:
Seinfeld, Finding Your Roots, History Channel, Forensic Files. He cheered for the Boston Red Sox and was a lifelong fan.
In his spare time he enjoyed horse racing handicapping, casinos. He also loved the ocean, spending many summer vacations in Hampton Beach, NH
and Maine with his family. He enjoyed his regular visits to Bella Napoli Bakery and the Country View Diner.
Survivors include his two sons: Michael D. Paglia from Brunswick and Paul (Daisy) Paglia of Selkirk.
He has four grandchildren who he loved to spend time with: Paul and Danielle Paglia of Selkirk, NY and
Michael J. and Emily Paglia from Troy.
He is survived by his three sisters: Rita (the late Frank) Taddeo, from Troy, Mary Ann (Thomas) Vumbaco, of Troy and
Elizabeth (the late Jack ) Skelly of Wilton, NH.
He was predeceased by his two brothers: Joseph 'Jake' Paglia, West Sand Lake, and Christy (the late Doris) Paglia, from N. Troy.
He is survived by ten nieces and nephews. Michael will be missed by all who knew him.

can do so by making a contribution to the American Heart Association.
The funeral service for Michael will be held on Friday morning at 11 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church in Troy
where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the Church Friday morning from 9 AM until 11AM. Interment St.
Mary’s Cemetery Troy.
