TROY – Patricia A. “Pat” Curtis, 85, of Troy entered into eternal life on July 2, 2022, in the comfort of her own home. Born in South Carolina on August 17, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Albert B. Corbett and Jeanne LeClair Corbett. Patricia was the loving wife of the late Donald G. Curtis, Jr. and the devoted mother of: Donna (Robert) Breault, David (Elaine) Curtis, Douglas (Jenny) Curtis and Dennis (Heidi) Curtis; doting grandmother of Dana Wurm, Sara and Denise Breault, Jeffrey, McKenzie, Katelyn and Brennon Curtis; great-grandmother of Charlie, Eli and Chase Wurm and Harlyn Breault. She also enjoyed visits with her granddog pal Baloo. She was predeceased by her brother Allen B. Corbett, Sr. and sister Elizabeth Jeanne Rule. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Moving to the Capital District as a child, Patricia was educated at Maplewood Elementary School. While attending Heatly High School in Green Island, she was a cheerleader as well as the Queen of the Senior Class Prom. After graduation in 1954, she was employed by Dr. Carid and then NY Telephone. Pat enjoyed nights out with her girlfriends, and it was at Alpha Bowling Lanes in Lansingburgh, during one of the weekend night post league bowling dances on the converted lanes dancefloor, that she met her future husband “Don” who would become her faithful and beloved companion for life. They were united in holy matrimony on April 12, 1958 at Saint Joseph’s Church in Green Island, NY. They were happily married for 62 years and were steadfast in their loyalty to one another and their family. Pat and her husband never tired of getting out there at clam steams, clubs or social events to “cut a rug” and dance the night away in each other’s arms. She was a homemaker for many years, and, after raising her family, she went to work at Troy High School becoming one of the “lunch ladies.” Following that she was employed as a Home Health Aide and eventually worked at Dunkin’ Donuts in Cohoes for many years. During retirement, Pat eagerly looked forward to playing the slots whether it be locally or taking bus trips to various casinos. She was an avid Bingo player who was always ready to “try her luck.” Pat had a circle of lady friends who would often gather to play cards, board games, go on shopping excursions or dine out. They enjoyed each other’s company and shared many good times and laughs together. Pat lived life “her way” sharing her zest for life with her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.
