Patricia Magur Obituary

Patricia A. Magur (Patty) passed away on February 16, 2026.

She was predeceased by her loving parents, Nicholas Magur and Lucy Topian, and by her brothers, James Magur and John Magur, all from Troy NY

Patricia leaves behind her sister, Joanne DiPofi; her sister-in-law, Theresa Magur; her nephews, James Magur Jr. and Christian Magur(Lauren); and her Cherished and beloved great-nieces, Stella and Piper Magur.

She will be remembered with love and dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Patricia held her family close to her heart and took great pride in watching the younger generations grow.

Patricia proudly served the State of New York Department of Education for more than 30 years. Throughout her long career, she was known for her sharp mind and whit, and uncanny sense of humor that was matched by no one. She built long lasting friendships with colleagues and earned the respect of all who had the pleasure of working alongside her.

Patricia lived her entire life on Second Street in Troy, where she became a familiar and treasured presence. Her neighbors will fondly remember her one-of-a-kind humor, which brought great fun and joy to the neighborhood. She had a gift for turning ordinary moments into laughter and leaving people smiling long after a conversation ended. Her sense of humor was uniquely her own — clever, perfectly timed, and unforgettable.

An eclectic spirit, Patricia had a deep love for arts and crafts, especially knitting. Her creative hands were rarely still, and she found joy in making beautiful, thoughtful pieces for those she cared about. Whether through a handmade creation or a perfectly delivered joke, she had a special way of bringing warmth into the lives of others.

Patricia’s life was defined not by grand gestures, but by the steady, meaningful impact she had on her family, her colleagues, and her neighbors. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her laughter, her brilliance, and the light she brought to Second Street and beyond.

May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
