Paul Dunphy Jr. passed on June 25 th , 2024 in Troy, NY at his Mother’s home
surrounded and loved by his Family and Friends. Paul was 50 yrs. old, being Born
Feb. Paul attended Rensselaer Park Elementary and Lansingburgh High in Troy, NY
and started his career in the US Navy directly after graduating High School from
1992-1998, serving aboard the USS Samuel Gompers (AD-37) and onto the USS
Carl Vinson (CVN-70) Aircraft Carrier.
Upon discharge he worked at Cellular One and Espey prior to being employed by
Verizon in 1999. He had 25 yrs. of experience in Central Office Installation
becoming Certified as a Level 3 Installer (MST) in 2000.
Paul currently held a Master’s Degree in IT Project management, a Master’s
degree in Psychology and an Associate’s Degree in Business.
He was the Son of Christina A. Urzan of Troy and passed Paul Dunphy Sr. formerly
of Schoharie. He was the former Husband of Shelbie Northup- Dunphy and Father
of Trent Arvids Dunphy. Survived by his Brother Michael T. Dunphy of Menands
and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Paul enjoyed most of his time with his Son Trent of whom he was so proud and
took him everywhere and taught him everything. He was very close to his brother
Michael and you usually did not see him anywhere without his Brother Michael.
Both he and his Brother proudly have their Military Banners flying on 5 th Ave.
between 101 st and 102 nd Sts. where they grew up on Florence Place.
He was a huge Buffalo Bills Fan, a Musician, playing Keyboards in Local Albany
Bands and a Producer of Electronic Music.
Thank you to all who helped in his final Days at Home and visited him for his
lengthy Hospital Stay. His Brother Michael, Shelbie, Son Trent, Cousin Joanne
Malpass, Colleen Maloney, Carole Mann, Lisa Wallace, Marie Gavazzi, Ginny
Dunphy, Rev. Pat Butler and most helpful Union Rep. Beth Fronczek and her
Husband John. Rensselaer County Hospice was the most helpful and wonderful to
him, both Jake and Michelle who attended to him caring for his special needs.
Mass for Paul’s Funeral will be at St. Edwards’s the Confessor Church in Clifton Park July
2 nd , at 10:30 am. A Veteran Motorcycle Memorial Procession will follow to the Gerald B.H.
Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville for a 12:30 entombment service.
Memorial and Remembrance
will be at his Mother’s home at 3300 Sixth Ave, Troy, on Sunday, June 30th , from 4-6
