Philomena J. Moscatello, 80, of Troy, passed into eternal rest on Wednesday morning, October 25, 2023, at The Van Rensselaer Manor.
Born in Troy, Philomena was the daughter of the late Ralph and Jennie Bernardo Bizzarro, and the loving wife of the late John A. Moscatello, who passed away in 1998.
Philomena had been employed at The County Legislature as a secretary and had previously worked at The Vanilla Bean and St. Anthony's Drop-in Center, both in Troy. She enjoyed playing bingo, dancing, shopping, and listening to music. But the most special time of Philomena's life was spending time with her family.
Philomena is survived by her three sons, Joseph (Cynthia), Anthony (Susan), and John (Gina) Moscatello; her brother, Dominic (Angela) Bizzarro; and her sister, Rachel (Gregory) Yamin. She was the very proud grandmother of Joseph, Domenico, Amanda, Anthony, and John Michael. Philomena is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Lou Moscatello; her two nieces, Jennifer and Nicole Yamin, and several other nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Philomena will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Jude The Apostle Church, Brookside Avenue, Wynantskill, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the church on Saturday from 9-11 a.m. prior to the Mass. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.
