Philomena (Phil) L Taddeo of Troy passed into eternal rest on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Philomena was born in Troy, NY and was the daughter of the late Marsilio and Louise Testo Taddeo. Philomena was a devoted dental assistant to her Uncle Dr. Richard Testo for approximately 40 years. Upon his retirement, she worked for New York State Department of Criminal Justice until she retired. Philomena was an avid New York Yankees fan. In her younger years, she enjoyed skiing and going to the beach in her poppy red mustang convertible. She was an avid walker, getting in her 10,000 steps most days. She enjoyed spending time with her dear friends Tony and Vicenza Carbonaro and their children who she considered family. Philomena loved the holidays where her family and friends would celebrate at her home. She loved and was loved by her sister in laws, nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews who she would do anything for. She was generous and caring to all who had the privilege to know her. Philomena was predeceased by her brothers Frank, Ralph and Joseph Taddeo and nephew Mark Taddeo all of Troy NY. Philomena is survived by her sister-in- laws Rita (Frank) Taddeo of Troy NY, Rita A (Joseph) Taddeo of Troy NY, and nieces and nephews Joseph (Gail) Taddeo of Port St. Lucie FL, Lou Ann (Jake Fros) Caruso of Halfmoon NY, Ralph (Teresa) Taddeo of Las Vegas NV, Denise (Robert) Hughes of Clifton Park NY, and Frank Taddeo of Troy NY. Also survived by her great nieces and nephews. Philomena’s family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the Doctors and Nurses at Samaritan Hospital for the wonderful and compassionate care that was shown to Philomena.
The funeral services for Philomena will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph church, 416 3rd Street, Troy, NY. where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the church Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery Troy NY.
