Halfmoon, NY
Naimo, Robert P. (‘Bob’ or ‘Gus’) of Halfmoon, NY passed away at home on Monday, Nov 28, 2022
surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in Troy, NY, Bob was the son of the late Peter and Carmel Naimo. Bob served his
country in the U.S. Air Force, completing two tours in Vietnam (1966 – 1970). He was integral in the
creation and completion of the Rensselaer County Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial located in Troy and was
supportive of all organizations that honored the warrior and not the war.
Educated in Troy, Bob took to sports in his youth and passed the love of football on to his family. He
began coaching football (and his son) in the North Troy Patriots Pop Warner organization before retiring
from coaching in the late 90’s. He remained a devout supporter of the Troy High School Football program
and was inducted into the Edward C. Picken Troy High School 2008 Hall of Fame for his athletic
achievements.
Over the years, Bob had many careers from a heavy equipment operator, a fisherman on Cape Cod, a
line cook, and even an herbalist. Bob’s most favorite job was the host of the Daily Breakfast Club at P4th
in Troy where he enjoyed spending time with his regulars and friends. Bob was lovingly known as “Mr.
Gray”. After moving from Troy to Halfmoon, Bob spent his retirement years immersed in the lives of his
family and friends, especially his wife and granddaughter.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Donna (Stallmer) Naimo of Halfmoon, his daughter Leesa
Naimo-Fredette (Art Fredette) of Halfmoon, his son Peter J. Naimo (Ryan Marie Naimo) of Troy, and
grandchildren; Cora Shea Fredette, Dylan Fredette and Scott Fredette. Bob leaves behind more friends
and family, too numerous to mention.
The family would like to thank the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office and the Clifton Park/Halfmoon EMS
for their kind and compassionate care.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Leahy-Bocketti Funeral Home at 336 3 rd. St, Troy on Tuesday
December 6th from 4 to 7 pm. Interment will be at a future date at Saratoga National Cemetery.
