Troy – Rosemary Piscitella, 95, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026 surrounded by her
loving family.
Born in Troy, NY on June 2, 1931, Rose was the daughter of the late Sebastian and
Angeline Mango Piscitella. She grew up in Troy and attended Troy City Schools. Rose
began her first career at Montgomery Ward in Menands until it closed in 1980 and went on to
her second career at Capital Healthcare Associates in Troy until her retirement. Rose was a
member of the Italian Community Center in Troy and the Green Island Senior Center. Rose
had many interests including playing the slots at The Saratoga Racino, bus trips to Atlantic
City, summer vacations in Wildwood, ceramics, bowling, bocce, BINGO and spending time
with her many friends and family. Rose especially enjoyed holding court with her “coffee
club”(Don, Bill and Lloyd) at Cornerstone Apartments. Everyone called her “The Mayor of
Cornerstone”.
Rose is survived by her special nieces Colleen Pickett (Diane Myslowski), Angie Gavin
(Tim Strife) and Maria Keary (Shawn Viana). Rose is also survived by her sister-in-law Mary
Ann Piscitella, beloved nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces
and nephews, many devoted friends and dear friend Loretta Gusberti.
Rose was predeceased by her brothers Dominick, Joseph, Frank, Louis, Thomas and
James and her sisters Anna, Mary and Pat.
A special thank you to Van Rensselaer Manor and the folks on 3C (especially Gene,
Megan, Myra, Mimi, Sharon, Lisa and Beth) for their wonderful care and compassion over the
past 9 months.
To honor Rose’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. We invite you to privately
celebrate Rose’s memory in your own way. We know she will be with us all in spirit. The
family has entrusted Bocketti Funeral Home with her arrangements.
