Sylvia (Stubley) Essenter

Sylvia Essenter, 92, of Cohoes and formerly of Troy, entered into eternal life on Friday September 19, 2025.

Born in Ilion, NY she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Ragina O'Shea Stubley, and the beloved wife the late Joseph Essenter.

Mrs. Essenter's greatest pride was in her family, she was a loving and devoted wife mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her children; Michael (Late Linda Shevy) Essenter and Jo Ann Essenter Marks, stepson Donald (Lynda) Essenter, 2 grandsons; Michael Lee (Becky) Essenter and Benjamin Thomas Essenter, daughter in laws Leeander Essenter and Deborah Essenter, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. In addition to her husband Joseph, she was predeceased by her loving son Thomas Essenter and her 7 brothers and sisters. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited and may call on Thursday morning from 9-10 am at the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, Troy. Prayer services will begin at 10 am with Deacon Charles Wojton Officiating, Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
