Thomas Michael Moran

Thomas Michael Moran Jr., 46, of Troy, New York,  passed away in a tragic accident on the evening of Thursday, August 17, 2023. Thomas was the son of Thomas Moran Sr. and Grace Moran Ryan, and stepson of Joseph P. Ryan. Thomas grew up in Wynantskill where he would graduate from Averill Park High School, before meeting his former wife Christy Brock. Together Tommy and Christy would have two children, Makiah Moran, and Tyler Moran.

A proud Irish-American, with a passion for life, music, and family, Tommy lived his life fearlessly, accomplishing feats such as skydiving, swimming with dolphins, an endless array of concerts, roller coasters and adventures. Led by a kind heart, Tommy was a hard worker and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those he loved. He was known for his happy, fun-loving, and genuine nature.

Tommy is survived by his two children, Makiah Moran and Tyler Moran, his father Thomas Moran Sr., stepfather Joseph Patrick Ryan, sister Molly Holbritter, brother-in-law Eric Holbritter, and sister Maggie Moran. Tommy is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Tommy was predeceased by his mother Grace Moran Ryan.

A gathering of Tom’s family and friends will be held on Sunday September 3, 2023 from 2-5PM at The Wm. Leahy Funeral home 336 Third St. Troy. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Joseph’s House in Troy.
