Thomas A. Styles Sr.

Thomas A. Styles Sr. 74 of Troy passed into eternal rest on Saturday May 10,2024
at St. Peter’s Community Hospice, in Albany, surrounded by his loving family. Tom
was born in Troy and was the son of the late Thomas F. and Marie Canfield Styles
of Troy
Tom was a graduate of Sacred Heart School and LaSalle Institute ,both in Troy and
Simmons School of Embalming and Mortuary Science in Syracuse. Tom was the
third generation to run the Styles Funeral Home in Troy ,which was opened in
1909 by his grandfather Thomas Augustus Styles . After 26 years, Tom left the
funeral business and went to work for the NYS Department of Education .In his
later years he worked as a real estate agent for Berkshire- Hathaway .Tom
enjoyed traveling ,fishing, bowling and playing golf but most of all he loved
attending family events.
Tom was known by all for his quick wit and sense of humor.
He is survived by his children Maria Styles of Troy , John ( Carrie ) Styles of
Esperance ,Thomas Styles Jr. of Troy and Jennifer(Christopher ) Domine of Troy
,seven grandchildren , several nieces and nephews and his longtime companion
Katheryn Hems. In addition to his parents, Tom was also pre-deceased by his
sister, Margaret Susan Russell and his granddaughter Abbilyn Theresa Ostrowski -
Styles
A memorial service for Tom will be held on Tuesday morning May 28 ,2024 at
11:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Troy where a mass of Christian burial will be
celebrated by Rev John Yanas ,Pastor.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the church on Tuesday
morning from 9:45 AM until 11:30 AM . Inurment be at St Joseph’s Cemetery
