Vincent Morini Obituary

Vincent Anthony Morini passed into eternal rest suddenly, Tuesday morning with his loving family at his side. Vince was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend, who retired in 2008 after all his hard work as a laborer for nearly 33 years at A&V Morini Construction, which he owned and operated with his late father, Anthony. A&V was well known and recognized by many contractors in the Tri-City area, and their reputation was not beaten by many.

Born and raised in Troy, NY, Vince was an avid New York Yankee fan and to know him was to know that no matter how the Yankees play each year he was forever a “Yankee”. He loved Mickey Mantle, good’ol #7, and met his idol for the first time in 1987. Vince loved all things baseball. He and his son, Michael owned M&V Card Shop for many years, and aside from his older cliental, Vince was often visited by the neighborhood kids both near and far who came to the store with their pocket change to buy baseball cards and talk “shop.” In his younger years, he played softball in an adult men's league for 10 years. Vince was also an amazing bowler for 50 years of his life, holding the highest team triple score at the Troy Bowler’s Association down at Uncle Sam Lanes-and that record still holds to this day!

Vince was loved and respected by so many who crossed his path, and he was dubbed by his family as “The Mayor of Troy.” With his quiet and calming demeanor, but loud boisterous voice, Vince had many friends who he cherished and could be found daily at his local hangout, Famous Lunch in Troy hanging out at “the office.” He loved his family and repeatedly talked about the joy and strength they brought to his life, especially his grandson, Joshua, his best friend.

Vince is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Pamela (Garner) Morini, his “Jenny”; his children, Michael Morini, his “Mikey” and Melissa Muscato (Josh) his “Buddie” and daddy’s little girl; and his most special best friend, his grandson Joshua Muscato, his “Joshy and Scorch,” who will miss talking about sports with his Peep. He also leaves behind his cherished sister, Tonimarie (Morini) Garcia (Miguel) and so many adoring cousins and friends that he held close to his heart and life.

He was predeceased by his loving parents, Anthony and Rosemary Morini, who no doubt was waiting to greet their “Vincie.”

The family would like to thank the entire ICU floor at Samaritan Hospital, who never gave up on Vince, right to the very end.
