Winifred J. (Fox) Millington

(Winifred) Joan Millington Troy, NY was called to eternal rest on Tuesday, Oct 3 after a brief illness. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving children. She was 91 years old. Born in Troy, NY Joan was the daughter of the late Helen Farrell Fox and Stephen Fox and the loving wife of the late Joseph Millington. Joan was a graduate of Watervliet High School and Mildred Elley School of Business. She retired from the Watervliet Arsenal in 1989, She was a devoted communicant of St Joseph’s parish in South Troy. She expressed great love for her family and friends. She enjoyed shopping, festive Holiday traditions and Friday night dining out with her sister in her earlier years and of late she looked forward to her Friday visits with her hairdresser friend Candace Ellis and her Saturday mass and dining out time with her daughter Michele. She especially loved all family celebrations and she cherished time spent with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Joan was predeceased by her sister Helen Ann Kielb of Averill Park. Survivors include her beloved children Michele Millington (Jim McGrath) of Wynantskill. Colleen Millington of Ballston Spa, Tom Millington of Troy, Jay Millington (Erin Crotty) of Troy, her brother, Edward (Sandy) Fox of Las Vegas NV her sister-in-law Kay Millington of Troy, her cherished grandchildren Caitlin Kelley and Zachary Millington .as well as many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 7th from 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church 416 Third Street followed by a mass of Christian burial. Interment will take place at St Joseph’s Cemetery.
